I needed a new mat because mine old one is in rough shape.
This mat is a game changer. I no longer have any issues with having metal dies stay put on a mat. No need for taping and makes die cutting so much easier!!
I received my large magnetic mat and was so glad to get back to cutting. I scrapbook and make cards. I have an original Empress,, so it fit in the opening on the short side. I do not have the long plates or metal shim, so it took some figuring to get pieces cut.
