Swing Out Dies- Made Easy

Hello Griffinites,

It's always fun to make a card that does something special, and our Swing Out Dies do just that! This rather simple looking die set works with the card, papers, embellishments and sentiments of your choice to create a card that animates your card in a brilliant way. We love to use the Swing Out Dies for birthday cards, anniversary cards and more. Look to it anywhere you need a little whimsy!
If you don't have the Swing Out Dies, then get yours on sale on our website this week. If you do have them, get them out and let's make today's card together!
First cut the mechanism out of your favorite paper.
Cut 2 of the squares that attach to the mechanism.
In the picture below, you can see how to place the adhesive on the mechanism. This will ensure that your embellishments move freely at the open and close of the card.
Fold your mechanism like an arrow as shown.
Place the right side of the mechanism down onto the card base.
Next, put the left side of the mechanism adhesive down on the card base as shown.
Place the 2 square embellishments onto the mechanism as pictured here.
Cover the final section of adhesive on the mechanism with a collection of diecuts, embellishments and a sentiment.
Decorate the front of your card any way you please! We used the Album Making Dies and Folders along with the Annalise Collection.
Add a place to write your message on your card and adhere to the blank side of the card. We made this one with the Scallop Compendium Dies.
The Swing Out Dies are great for cards of all occasions. Use them with the Carte Noire collection for a gorgeous gratitude card.
Add a collage of florals and flourishes for the perfect birthday card.
Combine your favorite rose stickers, dies and even pretty corners for another great birthday card.
Use today's tutorial as inspiration when working with the Swing Out Dies. You will love creating cards that surprise and delight all year long. Share the cards that you make with us on our social media channels. We love to see what you are creating!

I love this die set! You can use it for any type of card. The recipient gets a surprise when they open it!

Thanks for doing this one. It is complicated fold and having done it several times was going to gift it because even though I am an experienced crafter I couldn’t get this one together. There was only 1 YouTube video I could find but it didn’t have the detail I needed. A member of the community directed me to the scoring technique class in the waving wishes class video in Finishing school which helped a little. If this video be slowed down and focused s more on the fold and taping that would be more helpful, but it is a start and the photo are here but sometime when crafting it is easier to see a video that you have saved than try to navigate to get to a blog post.

This is a great tool to make unique cards.

Thank you Anna for sharing the technique on how to put together the twisting mechanism. I am visual person and need to see to make sure I do it correctly. I will be seeing later today. Everyone have a great day and may God bless you all.
