Hi Crafters,
Get ready to set sail on a cardmaking adventure! This week, we’re crafting a charming nautical themed easel card using the Schooner Easel Dies. This project is full of playful patterns, delicate fussy cut layers and thoughtful details— perfect for sending a heartfelt bon voyage or a cheerful hello from afar.
What’s great is that the Schooner Easel Dies set gives you everything you need to build a beautiful 3D ship scene. You’ll love how easily it cuts intricate layers like sails, waves, and anchors. When paired with the Phoebe Paper Collection, which includes patterned papers, coordinating foil cardstock and vellum, your projects will be sailing smooth.
Let’s get crafty!
Start by diecutting Phoebe patterned papers using the shadow layer of the Schooner Easel Die and the middle of the stopper.
Add a few small anchor diecuts in brown while you’re at it— there’s room on your big plates!
Diecut the schooner shadow in pink, then cut the schooner itself in blue foil, along with the stopper base and a set of waves.
Use the same schooner die to cut lace vellum and matte gold cardstock for elegant layering (keep the pieces that come out of the dies for inlaying).
Attach clear tape to the back of the blue foil schooner and carefully inlay the vellum pieces into the open spaces.
Trim one of the sail sections from the vellum as shown; it will be used for a layer.
Fussy cut the gold boat and matching sail from the matte gold diecut.
Attach the pink shadow layer to the easel base.
Place the stopper on the bottom flap with foam adhesive for dimension.
Layer the blue inlayed schooner over the pink base.
Add your gold fussy cut layer right on top.
Now pop on the vellum sail and your chosen sentiment using foam adhesive.
Tuck in a couple of Phoebe flowers around the schooner for a soft, floral touch.
Layer a brown and gold anchor, then collage with flowers for the perfect finishing detail.
So pretty, so nautical and just your style! Whether it’s for a friend off on a new adventure or someone who dreams of the sea, this easel card is sure to delight. Now, you can send a beautiful 3D note to your friends and family.
Do you know someone who is going on a cruise or adventure? Write them a bon voyage note!

The vellum is certainly the right touch to make the sail look more realistic.
Happy Crafting!
I have this die, so much fun! I used it to make a Thank you card for a neighbor that made me a beautiful cutting board…He used to make model ships years ago…My neighbor was so surprised so see one out of paper. :-) I was glad he liked it that much…because the cutting board it truly beautiful!! My brother in law has ship in a bottle—so thinking I may make one for him too.
