Hi Crafters,
Welcome to Charm School! Today we’re going to have fun with one of our favorite products— the Fancy Alphabet Rub On Transfers. This set is absolutely gorgeous and gives you two full alphabets in different colors, plus beautiful flourishes and antique-inspired designs to adorn them. What’s great is that you can personalize just about anything— cards, tags, gifts or even a ribbon wrap. These rub ons let you make an elegant monogram or illuminated letter that really makes your project feel one of a kind.
Now let’s walk through how to make a truly elaborate birthday card, layered with diecuts, vellum, foil and of course a fancy initial.
First, cut a piece of Perfume Box Double-Sided Cardstock using the Beautiful Birthday Dies shadow layer.
Next, apply an array of gold foil rub ons from the Glorious Foil Rub Ons to a piece of vellum. These look stunning layered over patterned paper. Run through your Empress Machine!
Cut ivory and gold diecuts using the Baroque Frame Dies and 3D Fancy French Frame Dies.
Choose a letter from your rub on sheet. Keep the backer on until you’re ready, then place it over a gold matte foil diecut.
Use a bone folder (or even the back of a spoon) to rub it firmly in place. Peel away the wax top sheet to reveal your personalized monogram.
Cover your card base with light blue damask paper (from Virginia) and add swirling rub ons to the top and bottom for detail.
Trim down two Virginia borders and adhere them to the card.
Layer your fancy diecut edges along the left and right sides.
Add rose embellishments to the middle for softness and dimension.
Place your layered medallion in the center of the card.
Try rub ons on ribbon too! Wrap the ribbon around your medallion and secure it behind the vellum for a truly elegant touch.
Finally, add the layered diecut with your monogrammed letter and finish with a sentiment sticker.
You will love personalizing cards with this set! Make your papers even more interesting and add custom monograms wherever you please.
Rub ons can be adhered to different surfaces and textures. We love it on mirrored cardstock.
Vellum is just the thing for your Fancy Alphabet Rub Ons. Isn't this card just stunning?
So pretty, right? The magic of these Fancy Alphabet Rub Ons is that they instantly elevate your cards, and you can use them on vellum, foil, ribbon or cardstock for endless looks. What’s great is that every time you reach for them, you can create something completely personalized and unique— just your style.
