Christmas 3D Interactive Pulley Dies- Made Easy

There’s something magical about creating cards that move and shimmer— just like those lovely keepsakes from the past. This week, we’re making a stunning interactive card using our Christmas Pulley Dies and Luxury Christmas Present Foil Cardstock. It’s inspired by Victorian valentines and adds a delightful, dimensional surprise to your holiday greetings!

What’s great is that this set gives you everything you need: 12 sheets of double-sided 12"x12" Christmas Present Foil Cardstock in traditional patterns, 3 sheets of matte gold foil cardstock for elegant accents, 3 luxurious Lucky Shimmer Cards, 2 pulley dies to create movement, and a full sheet of 3D Reason for the Season stickers for that festive finishing touch.

Let’s make something beautiful in the making!

First, cut your Christmas Present Foil Cardstock with the Christmas Pulley Dies. You’ll start by making your card’s interactive base.

Cut a second foil cardstock pattern and layer it with matte gold foil to form the pulley arms and decorative back layers.

Use your Lucky Shimmer Cards to cut panels for decorating. Their sparkle brings your card to life!

Fold your pulley strips along the scored lines and connect them into loops using strong tear tape. These loops are the key to the moving mechanism.

Place the loops behind the two diecut layers. One large, one small—as shown.

Adhere your dark green shimmer diecuts to the card base. These are so rich and elegant.

Choose some Reason for the Season stickers and decorate the top layer of your card. So pretty!

Now attach the pulley mechanism to the back of the shadow layer and card base. Make sure everything lines up and moves as one.

Add the smaller decorative layer to the front pulley loop. It creates that tiered, stair step effect.

Open and close your card to test the movement. Everything should glide perfectly.

Add a Reason for the Season sentiment to the bottom of the shadow layer for a heartfelt message.

Top it off with a poinsettia sticker to bring holiday charm to the base.
