Bow Cut and Emboss Folders- Made Easy

Hi Crafters,

Nothing completes a card or gift like the perfect bow. With our Bow Cut and Emboss Folders, you can make bows that are crisp, dimensional and elegant every single time. What’s great is that these folders are true embellishment makers— designed to help you create as many bows as you need. The set includes two folders: one makes a big, perfect bow, and the other creates both a 3D bow and a flat bow. Each folder cuts and embosses in one pass, so all the detail and texture are done for you. Just your style, just your way!

Today, let’s walk through how to make a beautiful layered card topped with a handmade bow.

We started by using the 3D Christmas Concentric Dies to create our frames. The floral paper is from the Mirror Card Craft Box and the solid pink from our archive.

Take another piece of the Mirror Card Craft Box, and cut a 4.5" x 6.5" layer.

Start with shimmer cardstock, and add inside the Bow Cut and Emboss Folder to cut the main bow pieces. For extra fullness, cut a second set of tails. We like to add a piece of wax paper between the folder and our fancy paper— this helps protect the surface and makes removal easy.

Curl your bow pieces with the edge of your scissors. Just like curling ribbon, this softens the fibers and gives your bow a natural curve. Do this on both the tails and the main bow loops.

Prepare your card base; we used a lavender card (from our Francesca Cards and Envelopes) layered with a pretty piece of decorative paper, topped with a layer cut from the Mirror Card Craft Box.

Add your floral 3D Christmas Concentric Frame shadow layer.

Next, adhere the intricate part of the frame.

The first 2 tails of the bow are added with foam adhesive.

Next attach your 3D paper bow.

Add your second set of bow tails for extra effect!

Decorate the bottom of your card with your favorite embellishments (these are from the Mirror Card Craft Box).

Try adding flowers that dangle like a little necklace beneath the bow— it’s such a sweet finishing touch.

So, So pretty! Your beautiful, encouraging card is ready to send to someone on your list. They are sure to be uplifted by your thoughtfulness and this gorgeous card.

Create lovely bows with vellum!

Double your bows for a pretty, layered look.

We like to think outside the box with this set. Use the bows as background patterns and play with different sheens of paper.

There you have it! A perfect bow, curled and layered to look just like ribbon. So pretty! You can make a big bold bow, a sweet 3D layered bow or a simple flat bow— whatever suits your project. Try vellum for soft, sheer bows or mix two different cardstocks for a stylish double bow. The possibilities are endless.

I am interested in the Bow die. How much is it?

Sandy Bloome

Stunning bows they are so beautiful and would make any card stand out. Thank you, Anna, for sharing the inspiration on how the use the bows in other way. Everyone have a great week and may God bless you all.

I was particularly interested in the second from last card with the wreath with the bow at the bottom. What die cut set did you use to make the green wreath layer with? To be able to use as a Christmas card and maybe a Birthday card intrigued me! TIA

Very BOW-ti-ful. The texture in the die is so detailed. I use your bow dies when mailing gifts so that I can add a flat bow to the present.
Beautiful ideas.
Happy Crafting!
