Art Nouveau Border and Pattern Foil Plates- Made Easy

Art Nouveau Border and Pattern Foil Plates- Made Easy

Hi Crafters,

There is something so special about adding a little shine to your handmade cards. Today we are creating an elegant Thinking of You card with the Gilded Art Nouveau Border and Pattern Hot Foil Plates. The graceful, flowing designs are inspired by the beautiful organic shapes of the Art Nouveau style, and they make the perfect backdrop for florals, frames and all of your favorite embellishments.

We are also crafting with the In the Garden Ultimate Paper Crafting Kit. What’s great is that everything coordinates beautifully, so creating something gorgeous is easy.  Use them with your Empress Gild to transfer beautiful foil onto cardstock, fabric, glitter cardstock and more. It’s always fun to see how one beautiful foiled pattern can completely transform a project.

Come get crafty with us!

Place the Art Nouveau Border and Pattern Hot Foil Plate in the center of your Empress Gild platform.

Place your foil color side down onto the plate.

Add a piece of ivory coated cardstock on top of the foil.

Place the top plate of the Empress Gild over your cardstock. Heat the large plate for 5 minutes, then run everything through your Empress Machine.

Remove the foil to reveal the beautiful Art Nouveau pattern. Now you have all of that gorgeous, intricate detail expertly applied. So pretty!

Cut the large shadow layer from the Gratitude Journal Dies using light blue cardstock from the Perfect Palette Cardstock 6x8.

Use one of the patterns from our In the Garden Ultimate Papercrafting Kit to create your card base.

Add the light blue shadow layer to the front of your card.

Cut your gilded cardstock with one of the inner shadow layers from the Gratitude Journal Dies.

Perfect!

Add the gilded layer on top of the light blue cardstock.

Cut the large intricate frame and its inner shadow from the Luxury Rose Green Matte Foil Cardstock.

Now you have a wonderful frame to use over your foiled design.

Layer the frame over your foiled design. Now you have a wonderful frame that lets all of that beautiful gilding show through.

Add pink roses, gold foil flourishes and a sweet bird from the In the Garden Ultimate Paper Crafting Kit to the bottom right corner.

Add a couple of pink rose embellishments and a gold foil rose from the In the Garden Ultimate Paper Crafting Kit to the upper left corner. Keep them slightly below the top so your composition feels beautifully balanced.

Add a Thinking of You sentiment from the Banner Day Sentiment Stickers.

Now you have a lovely layered card filled with shine, dimension and garden-inspired details.

What’s great is that the Art Nouveau Border and Pattern Hot Foil Plates work beautifully on so many different surfaces. Try them with fabric, patterned cardstock, plain paper, coated cardstock, glitter cardstock and more. Each surface gives you a completely different look.

Tonal cards are so pretty! Choose just a few coordinating colors and let the foiled pattern do the talking. You do not need to cover every inch of the card. Leaving plenty of that gorgeous foil visible makes the design feel even more special.

It’s always fun to combine something new with favorite pieces already in your craft room. Florals, frames, sentiments and foil can all work together to create something completely unique and just your style.

I would like to add that I think I may have erred in my previous comment about the sample card I imagined.

Since this is for the Gild Foil machine, a silver or deep blue gilded frame would do and the background layer would also be of same but the Art Nouveau Pattern would be gilded gold

This Art Nouveau Pattern and Border Foil plates is unique because it can be gilded using various papers and versatile enough to use for both male and female cards.

The Art Nouveau pattern seems neutral which is why it can be used as above -mentioned.

I can imagine using the dark blue matte foil for the frame and gold matte foil for the pattern with a deep gray or light blue background card layer. That would be for a male card.

Once again, God job, Anna & team. As always. 🙂

Stunning card. Anna, you make the most beautiful cards and projects and pass the techniques on so we can do the same or at least close to what you have done. Thank you for sharing your creative with us. Everyone have a great day and may God bless you all.
