Summer House Easel Dies- Made Easy

There is something so charming about a cozy summer cottage, and today we're creating one that folds into a beautiful easel card! The Summer House Easel Dies and your Empress Machine (or any diecutting/embossing machine) make it easy to craft a card that feels like a peaceful getaway by the beach or the lake. What's great is that this wonderful set includes the easel house die, the shadow layer, decorative dies for the roof, windows, porch, staircase, dormers, shutters, awnings, sea oats, kickstand and all of the delightful details you need to create a dimensional summer house. This set is perfect for mixing colors, textures and patterned papers to make every card uniquely yours.

Today, we're going to show you how to create this lovely easel card. It's always fun to build a little paper house together!

First, cut your cardstock with the Summer House Easel Dies easel die to create the card base.

Cut the house shadow layer in matte gold cardstock and cut the intricate house die three times using different colors and textures from your favorite papers.

Use scraps of coordinating patterned papers to cut the various house pieces. Fussy cut the elements you want to highlight for extra dimension.

Fold the easel forward and add adhesive to the tab.

Adhere the layered gold shadow layer first, then add the light blue house die cut on top.

Attach the kickstand at the bottom of the card so your easel stands beautifully.

Take the ivory layer and fussy cut the bottom porch section as shown. Adhere it to the front of the house.

Fussy cut the roof and staircase from matte gold foil cardstock and add them to create elegant architectural details.

Decorate the windows with coordinating paper pieces to personalize your summer house.

Add all of your pretty details, including the porch railing, shutters, dormers and awnings. So pretty!

Create a lovely focal point by adding a cluster of hydrangeas and a charming chair to the front left of the house.

Add a "Sending You Sunshine" sentiment to brighten someone's day.

Finish by adding a signature card inside for your personal message.
