Lian card with gold layers and lian embellishments

Fan Mail Friday- May 16th, 2025

Hi friends,

One thing that we love most about this community is how we can hold each other up and surround each other in good times as well as hard ones. It is such a beautiful thing to see, and we just love the amount of support that is found in the amazing people in the Griffinite community.

We say that our Create events are the very best thing that we do, and the cards and letters that we received today are a perfect example of how meaningful they really are. From pure enjoyment and creativity to giving yourself time away from jobs and even caretaking— Create is a respite as well as a super feel good, creative conference.

Come read the mail with us!

Patti called Crop at Home 5 "much needed crafting therapy". She sent us this lovely Carte Noire card to tell us about how her 93 year old mother passed recently and getting her estate settled was a lot. Now that CAH5 is over, she is going to partake in some self care in the form of travel. Now that's a great idea!

It isn't one of our Create events without a wonderful, heartfelt poem from Penny. Penny wrote to say that she really enjoyed the creative weekend that we had together, and she even sent us a beautiful Lian card!

We are sending the biggest hugs to our friend Victoria. She has been such an anchor in her family with the caretaking that she does and has done for the past 5 years. She wrote to tell us that on May 2nd, Victoria lost her husband Jim and our truly hearts break for her. She wrote to say that by Sunday she tuned in to watch the Crop at Home finale and to be surrounded by our beautiful community. She is on to a new chapter, and we will all be with her every step of the way!

We want to thank all of you for being a part of something wonderful with us. It's magical to see the support, friendships and love that radiates out from this community. There's nothing quite like chosen family.

If you would like to send something in to us for Fan Mail Friday,  you can mail it to us at 99 Armour Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30324. We look forward to showing off your beautiful cards, letters and projects, and we love hearing about the things happening in your life.

Until next week!

Love,

Anna

I too extend my sympathy to Patti and Victoria. Life is really short. I see that in my wonderful twin granddaughters who graduate high school this June and go on to their respective colleges. I think it was only yesterday that these tiny bundles of joy were born, how can they be almost 18 years old? Life does give us lots of joys as well as lots of pains. I lost my husband twice in the same day, we were divorced in the morning and he died that night. I loved him dearly, but it is hard to compete with another woman and their child. But she and I are now good friends! So life is full of strange, sorrowful, yet wonderful things. That was 25 years ago, he died at only 52. Never got to see his son be born, his daughters graduate college or get married or see the birth of 4 grandchildren. I am truly blessed at I got to experience all of that. I always said I hoped to live long enough to see my grands graduate high school, and hopefully I will do that next month. All I can say is life goes on. My dad always said that life is for the living, and we have to mourn those we lost, but also live what we still have left. Time heals a lot. You don’t forget, but it does get easier. I know that I will be the proudest grandmother sitting in those halls for their graduations. And also the most grateful that I get to witness the events.

Hi, Anna
I have cried with You! Very hard when You know Someone and They have lost the Love one’s!
The past few years, I have these losses and very hard not to feel the hole in Your heart. At my age is really given to have these losses around me! Life seem-s to be very short! I’m thankful for You, what You’ve created for many of us! Connect to each others and have a purpose in our lonely days. Crafting, making my cards to see the happy faces, when I hand my cards to Someone. It’s priceless and get You, going, looking for the next occasion.
I feel, We All connected to You, because, You became big part of our life.
Thank You!

Beautifully expressed Anna and thank you for leading such a warm, kind and compassionate community. My sincere condolences for Victoria in the tremendous loss of her husband. And she is a remarkable example of striving through the grief in her strength to keep moving forward as she creates her next chapter.
