Crafter of the Week - Michelle Compton

Greetings everyone,

We are so excited to continue our celebration of National Craft Month by shining a spotlight on our Griffinites! What better way to celebrate than to feature some of the incredibly talented and vital members of our community.

Meet Michelle Compton! Michelle is a wife, a Mother, an AG Member, a pharmacist by day and avid scrapbooker in her free time. We caught up with this extraordinary woman recently and wanted to share the connection with you.

Michelle gifted Anna with a handmade an Eras Tour album complete with friendship bracelet and custom ticket for the Atlanta show.

Party like it's 1999! There's no better way to celebrate our 30th Anniversary than to walk down memory lane. Michelle used a full suite of Anna Griffin wedding invitations for her wedding to Dewey. Wow, what an amazing blast from the past!

We asked Michelle a few questions so we could get to know her a little better!

When were you first introduced to Anna Griffin?
I fell in love with Anna’s products while choosing my wedding invitations in 1999.

How long have you been crafting?
I was a card maker with stamps in the mid 90s but I became an avid scrapbooker when my first child was born in 2003. I went to my local scrapbook store every month to make the Anna Griffin elegant paper crafting scrapbook layouts.

What is your favorite occasion to create for?
I’ve always loved red, white & blue since my son was born on the 4th of July. I make a mini album for 4th of July every summer so I was thrilled to have another chance to buy the Madison paper.

How does crafting help you reach out to others?
Touching & crafting with paper is such a wonderful stress reducer for me. Over the past 2 years I’ve met many California Griffinites that have become dear friends. I had no idea how much this community of special people would mean to me. I recently joined a card exchange. It is the most exciting thing to get hand crafted cards in the mail that are sent with love. We have a great community that gets together on zoom. We are each crafting at home but still in a group.

What is your favorite Anna Griffin product?
Right now my favorite product is the 12x12 paper kits with embellishments. I went to digital scrapbooking for a few years & missed touching the paper. I’m thrilled to participate in Crop at Home so I can make themed albums. During Crop at Home 2 & 3 I did albums of my parents as children, my parents 60th anniversary and a sister album. I’m planning to use Crop at Home 4 as my daughter’s graduation album. I’m even making her take graduation pictures in a dress that matches the papers. I think I will finally make my wedding album 25 years later in the faded rose paper.

Thank you so much, Michelle! We cannot wait to see your 25th wedding anniversary album. It's going to be an incredible keepsake full of happy, cherished memories. You will have to share your photos in the Crop at Home 4 craft room!
Our celebration of 30 years as Anna Griffin Inc. and National Craft Month continues! Be sure to participate in our daily giveaways happening on our social media channels all month long! We love seeing the creative things that you make and do.
Love,
Anna

A lovely lady who has been a crafter nearly as long as I! Nice to meet you, Michelle.

Whooohoooo. That’s my sister and fellow Griffinite. What a joy pleasure and honor it has been to have such an awesome crafting buddy all these 25 years!!! Fellow Griffinites have been such a blessing for both of us. Thank you all for the inspiration and the pleasure of crafting together at CAH and Create events. Looking forward to more events and more friends in our special talented crafting community.
