Crafter of the Week: Pamela Allen

Hi crafters,

This week we are spotlighting our friend Pamela Allen! Pamela was born and rasied in Fulshear, Texas and has been married to her husband Eric for 23 years. They have 2 kids that keep them busy and on the go! In 1998 a coworker of hers invited her to a stampin' up party, and she has never bought a card since! She makes all of her cards for every occasion. She also fell in love with scrapbooking, and has been able to scrapbook her entire life chronologically. Pamela is a realtor and loves to create scrapbook pages for her clients on the home they just bought. How thoughtful!

Pamela loves to go on crafting retreats!

We asked Pamela a series of questions to get to know her better, and to see how crafting is a part of her life.

When were you first introduced to Anna Griffin?
I was first introduced to AG when I went in to a local scrapbook store in Houston. They had the most beautiful paper I'd ever seen! I fell in love with the beautiful floral paper and then there were classes that we could take that taught us how to create beautiful box pleat borders and I was in love!

How long have you been crafting?
I have been a paper crafter since 1998. A friend invited me to a StampIn Up class. When I found out how easy it was to make a greeting card. Something so simple that had such an impact. I couldn't resist. At one of those classes someone brought a scrapbook and that sent me off into orbit! I was hooked!

What is your favorite occasion to create for?
My favorite occasion to create for is probably birthdays but anyone's special occasion. I love making custom gifts that fit the person and the theme. Recently I made place cards for my Pastor's Anniversary luncheon out of some of the Concentric Compedium Dies and the easel.

How does crafting help you reach out to others?
Crafting has been such a wonderful liaison to reach out to those who are going through a difficult time or just to show someone something fun and different. When I have time, I try to volunteer at our local senior citizen center. I have taught the seniors how to use their hand to make beautiful things. It helps to keep your mind off the more serious things in life.

What is your favorite Anna Griffin product?
How in the world can I choose a favorite AG product? The Gold paper and Matte foils are a must in my papercrafting world and I cannot live without my concentric dies that make everything simple stand out just a bit more. It's really difficult to pinpoint a product when everything goes together one way or another.
Here's Pamela and her beautiful family.
Carte Noire fun with the Tex-Annas!
Here's an example of one of Pamela's cards for her clients.
Pamela loves to scrapbook her family and events in her life.
She shared some of the photos of crafting with seniors from the local senior citizen center that she volunteers at.
We are happy to know Pamela Allen, and hope that you were able to get to know her better too. We have loved highlighting members of our community each week for National Craft Month. This talented and giving Griffinite community is what makes crafting and creating so special. You all are the very heart of what we do!
Love,
Anna

Love your beautiful pages and cards. You have a wonderful story. We both started the same way with that beautiful Anna Griffin paper. Well done on your crafting journey

I just read your story and EVERYTHING – I MEAN EVERYTHING is BEAUTIFUL. I love that you volunteer with the seniors. That is something I would like to do. I was volunteering before the pandemic – but things have changed a lot since then. But, I am praying that God will open a door for me to share my love for crafting with others, too. When I saw the picture of you and your family – I said to myself what is Brown doing in her family picture. Your husband looks like Brown from the Tyler Perry movies and is also Tamala Mann’s husband. (smile). May God continue to Bless you and your family.

Pamela, you do create the most beautiful projects! You have a lovely family and it is so nice that you volunteer for the seniors!

So nice to read about you, and see your lovely family, and your crafting friends. You make beautiful cards and scrapbooks; and bringing joy to your local senior citizen center through crafting. Congratulations on being spotlighted on Anna’s blog.

How nice to meet Pamela. Her ebullience for Crafting is so evident and I bet in person, it’s contagious too! She seems to be kind and generous just like a Griffinite should be😊
