Today’s card making project reminds me of Sunday afternoons spent with my Grandmother. Her front porch was where we rocked and watched the world go by. Making a card that sparks a memory keeps the special times in life alive. We are excited to make this dimensional card with you, and you will be surprised at how easy it is to make. It may look elaborate, but we’re going to show you step by step how to build this little greenhouse from the ground up!
Let’s get started!
- Paper cutter
- Craft Knife
- Scoring tool
- Double sided tape
- Foam tape
- Bone folder
- Greenhouse card toppers – https://annagriffin.com/product/greenhouse-card-toppers-kit/
- Ivory card stock (1) cut at 10×7- https://annagriffin.com/product/ivory-cardstock-bundle/
Turn ivory card stock horizontally.
Use a pencil and ruler to mark the card stock. Measure and mark at 2.5″ from the left, right and top. Score vertically at 2.5” on both sides and horizontally 2.5” from the top.
Fold the sides and crease with a bone folder, then open.
Open the card and push the middle of the left scored triangle forward like a milk carton. Repeat on the right side.
Gatefold the card closed tucking the folds in at the top. Burnish all with a bone folder.
Open and lay flat.
Take the dark green 5×7 layer and trim off the sides to the gold design. Measure 2.5″ on both sides. Score diagonally and fold in to the center to make a point.
Take the green screen pattern layer, measure 2.5″ on both sides. Score diagonally and fold in to the center to make a point. Open and cut vertically in half.
With double sided adhesive glue dark green layer to the center of the card.
Adhere the green screen layer to the left and right sides inside the card.
Take the light green layer, measure 2.5″ on both sides. Score diagonally and fold in to the center to make a point. Open and cut vertically in half.
Flip the card over. Adhere layers to the left and right side of the card.
Fold over the top portions of the paper to match the card and adhere, crease with a bone folder.
Embellish the card using foam tape on the back of the greenhouse die cuts.
Adhere the flower filled vases and potted flowers inside the card.
Create a collage of embellishments with the plant stand. Score the collage vertically down the middle. Create tabs on the left and right side by scoring vertically .25″ on each side. Valley fold the tabs and mountain fold the center to create the pop out. The folded collage is adhered to the back of the chair and the right side of the card.
Isn’t it amazing that with a little strategic scoring and folding, you can create an amazing card like this? We love the end result, and encourage you to send someone you love a beautiful greenhouse of their own!
