As always it was so fun reading your comments from this week’s sneak peek. We get such great inspiration from your suggestions, which reminded me that I need your help deciding what our next Cricut cartridge should include! We would love your input in the comments section.
This week’s HSN September 2nd giveaway winner is Deb Juillerat! Congratulations! We’ll be sending you our Holiday Metallic Layers, Christmas Sentiment Stamps and Christmas Vellum Quotes so you can get a major head start on your holiday crafting.
We got lots of requests for instructions for Tuesday’s Christmas card samples, so we put a couple tips and tricks together for you! Many of you asked how we achieved the beautiful tone-on-tone gold background on the “Wishing you a Merry Christmas” snowflake card. Fist, stamp the image on a diagonal repeatedly with a clear pigment ink pad.
Next, sprinkle gold embossing powder over the ink and shake off the paper (just like you would use glitter).
Finally, use a heat gun to create a raised gold embossed effect.
The end result is absolutely stunning!
Next is a quick tip on using vellum quotes. I think these stickers look best when adhered to solid ivory cardstock and cut out with a craft knife. It causes the vellum to give off a pretty sheen!
That’s all for today. I am off to London to pay a visit to QVC UK!
