Collapsible Bird Cage Dies – Made Easy
Hello crafters,
Today we are going to show you how easy it is to create a 3 dimensional card with the Collapsible Birdcage Dies. These dies are designed with notches that you slide the pieces into each other to put together the bottom, middle and top of the birdcage. We are decorating our beautiful bird cages with the set of All About Birds and Butterflies Diecuts.
Let’s make a card!
First, cut all of the pieces you need to build your birdcage including 4 of the middle section, 2 base pieces and 2 tops. We used the Layer Card Double-Sided Cardstock for the middle and Basket Double-Sided Cardstock for the top and bottom.
Next, put together the 2 top pieces and 2 bottom pieces to get started. Slide the notches together until they are even to form the top of the birdcage and the base.
The middle of the birdcage also notches together to form perfect 45 degree angles on each side.
You can add stickers to the inside of your birdcage before you connect the top and bottom to the middle.
Line up your notches and put your birdcage together. It’s not necessary, but you can add glue/ hot glue to the notches for extra sturdiness.
With your structure complete it’s time to decorate.

Lovely birdcage and your bird ephemera are amazing! Not only did we lose Momma Gallagher, a co-worker/friend and a another friend passed in the same week, it’s overwhelming. Thank you for doing these videos and your blog! It brought some beauty and joy to my heavy heart and it gave me inspiration! Happy thoughts of how lovely would that die be as a Christmas decoration by using greenery, Poinsettias or Christmas Roses, ribbon and then put a battery powered
votive! Anyway, it was a happy thought to share because I am sure that we aren’t the only ones dealing with hardships.

What a good. Demonstration. I did have a hard time on making the birdcage. I thought the paper should be stronger so I glued two together. They were stiffer but were harder to construct. I will keep that one, but I wanted to make enough as party favors.
As a sorority girl I was in charge of fashion show. We decided the theme to be…
“ I am just a bird in a Gilded Cage.” So the table centerpieces were a birdcage n bird. The show was to start w modern outfits and end with historic clothing of the Gilded Age.
It was a success but the birdcages were made of pipe cleaners! Not as fancy as a gold foil birdcage of Anna.

I have to say, I am somewhat disappointed with the birds & butterflies die cut stickers. I wish there were more birds sized more appropriately for the cards, and more vibrant colors.

What a darling sweet card to send that special friend, I only wish my Large Empress under warranty was not broken so I could make this project and use the over 40 other cutting dies and embossing folders. I have made several request to have the problem fixed but have not had any replies. Such a shame for a seeming friendly customer based company to behave.
