It’s time for another segment of beautiful in the making! We are making an out-of-this-world tea cup pop up card this week. If you already have our Tea Cup Pop Up Card Making Kit, get it out and play along. If you would like to purchase one, you may do so by clicking here: https://annagriffin.com/product/tea-cup-pop-up-card-making-kit/
Here is one way to think outside the box when working with our card making kits. Start by elevating your card base by running it through your Empress with an embossing folder.
Add a large die cut to the front of your card base for interest. This one is from our Doily Dies: https://annagriffin.com/product/doily-edge-dies/.
We fussy cut the end off of the diecut to make it flush with the card base.
Use a border, some floral embellishments and a sentiment to create your focal point.
Adhere all to the card front.
Put together the tea cup with the instructions that come with the kit. We also show you how to do this step by step in the video above!
Fold everything in half to make sure your teacup will close properly. Strategically place your strong, permanent adhesive to the base saucer.
Place your tea cup in the center fold of the card.
Then open it up and adhere to the other side of the card base.
Use foam adhesive to attach your floral embellishments and sentiment.
Another way to elevate the card is to add special touches to your teacup pop up card is to add more die cut doilies to your card base before applying the tea cup.
Here are a few more examples of how to think outside the box when making your tea cup pop up cards! You can make so many different collages on the front of your card with die cuts from your craft room.
If you are looking for the perfect die set to accompany this kit, you’ll love using our Tea Party Dies: https://annagriffin.com/product/tea-party-cut-emboss-dies/ along with it!
Use our Border Trim Dies: https://www.hsn.com/search?query=border+trim to form a beautiful belly band to close your pop up card.
It’s fun to use acetate to make butterfly embellishments float out of your teacup!
