With Christmas just over a month away, it is time to crank out those Christmas cards! We love to create scenes on our cards, and the Slimline Mantel Dies do just that! This versatile die set makes mantels to suit anyone's liking and even decor! If you don't have these, you can get them on sale on our website this week!
Let's create a gorgeous Merry Christmas card together!
First we create the mirror, fire, sconces and candles using matte gold cardstock.
There are lots of ways to make your mantel come to life, add brick texture with the Door Dies, Decorations and Folders. Try sanding them with a sanding block to add interest, or even watercolor them.
A rectangle cut out this pretty background from the Vignette Papers and Embellishments.
Texture was added to the top of the background layer with an embossing folder from the Christmas Slimline Embossing Folders.
Add the embossed background layer onto a slimline card of your choice. This one is from Vintage Christmas Slimline Cards and Envelopes.
Add your brick layer with foam adhesive.
Top it with the mantel. Add fun details like the gold shown here.
A mirror was made with the gold that we cut and some shiny silver foil cardstock.
Add another layer of the gold for added dimension.
Add two holly corner stickers to the top corners of your card.
A fussy cut fireplace adds warmth to your card.
Garlands and candles complete the scene.
Use real jewels or create paper ones to adorn your garland. Send your festive card on its merry way!

Wonderful mantel designs! When are we going to be able to purchase the Vignette papers and embellihments? It would be great to have the papers for Christmas cards. I do hope that the vignette paper comes back…there is nothing else quite like it, anywhere. Such a unique product, and so versatile.
I do hope you will make more Vignette Backgrounds. As so many of your dies work with these backgrounds. You could use the slim line door die and make the scene on the inside of your card. The ideas are endless.
